Joyce Dassonville is an associate with Merchant Law Group LLP in British Columbia. She graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1984 and began her professional career practicing law in British Columbia in 1986. She has practiced in both British Columbia and Nova Scotia.
While in Nova Scotia, Joyce worked as a Workers Compensation Appeal Tribunal Commissioner for four years. Four years’ experience as an administrative law adjudicator has given Joyce a unique perspective on how decision-makers consider personal injury claims.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Joyce was a Registered Nurse. Joyce’s nursing experience includes high-risk, fast-moving areas such as the labor and delivery room, intensive care nursery and the operating room. This experience has served Joyce well in her career as a lawyer.
Joyce takes on all types of personal injury cases, such as motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls and many other types of injury or disease cases. She also handles family law cases and administrative law matters.
